RSPCA in Herefordshire to celebrate 90th anniversary
THE RSPCA is celebrating 90 years of rescuing and rehoming abandoned and neglected animals in Herefordshire.
To mark the occasion the county branch has undertaken a major overhaul of its charity shop in Commercial Road in Hereford and will hold a birthday party for its customers on Thursday (October 17).
The new look shop will be re-launched by the mayor of Hereford, Councillor Phil Edwards, at 10am.
Ted Dowling, RSPCA branch chairman, said: “We are delighted the mayor has agreed to support us and without help from local communities who provide regular donations of stock we would struggle to raise our annual running costs of more than £90,000.
"Each year the branch finds new homes for more than 150 animals rescued from cruelty and neglect throughout the county and the shop plays a major part in generating funds towards annual running costs."
The charity shop is open between 9am and 5pm six days a week. Offers of help are appreciated. For more information call 01432 272771.
