THIS year's Mathon Sheepdog Trials will take place at the usual venue of Upper House Farm, Cradley, on Friday and Saturday.
A novice trial for local handlers living within a 20 mile radius commences at 6pm on Friday evening followed by prize giving and the presentation of a cheque for £500 to Cancer Research at around 8.30pm.
There will be hotdogs available along with a bar.
Saturday's trial runs from 7.30am until approximately 6pm. It has both novice and open classes and is a qualifying event for the national trials held later in the year.
A fun dog show takes place at 2.30pm on the Saturday with all proceeds go to charity.
The Mathon Sheepdog Society, which is made up from volunteers, has been running this event for more than 40 years.
Through donations taken on the gate £20,000 has been raised so far for local charities, along with its main beneficiary of Cancer Research.
