A NEW craze has taken Leominster by storm and a number of the town’s finest are now preparing to be exposed for a good cause.

Ricky Lock, from Barons Cross, had no idea that taking photos in his bathroom while bored would spark such local interest - and even a new trend.

But now people from across the town have followed his lead and plans are in motion for a Ricky Lock Pose Calendar.

Ricky, aged 23, said: “The original photos were taken in my bathroom while I was bored – most of the poses come from my crazy dance moves.

“I was quite surprised to find people copying them as I thought I’d have got a lot of criticism for it but it turned out to be the opposite.”

One of the brains behind the calendar, Lee Kinsey, said he sent a private photo imitating ‘the Leominster dance legend’ to his friend Kieran Powis who posted it online.

Julie Griffiths and Josh Murphy then set up the calendar’s Facebook group before the town got behind the idea. The group’s Facebook page now has 1,500 members.

Barrington Print will produce the calendar, with funds raised from sales going to Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Leominster Museum.

Lee said: “Everyone in Leominster likes to party naked so we may as well get it in print.”

Ricky – who has already been enlisted for December – said he thinks the idea is ‘brilliant’.

Companies are now being sought to help fund the cost of creating the calendars so that all profits will go to charity.

Those already on board are Aladdin's, Leominster Dog Grooming Services, First 4 Mortgages, Barrington's Print, Kieran Powis carpentry, Ducking Stool, Dizz co and Roller Dizz-co, C.Powis Darpentry, Pressed Ironing.co.uk, Trax Discos, Iiice Refrigeration and Shooters Bar.
