CONTROVERSIAL hip-hop star Dappy was involved in an altercation at a Hereford nightclub at the weekend.

A customer at Play sustained a small cut to his head after the N-Dubz star pushed him away from the stage during his performance in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Police have said that the incident has not been reported to them and they have not received any allegation of assault.

But spokesperson Sarah Buxton did say that, now they have been made aware of the matter, they will be making inquiries to establish exactly what happened and if there any complaints to investigate.

Following his performance, Dappy tweeted: “Tonight was f**kkkked!!!!! Poor security lool.”

But Play general manager Dan Guerche said that security was not an issue at the club.

“The customer managed to get past the security to try to gain access to the stage,” he said.

“There were 12 members of door staff on Friday night and there is no need for extra security.

“It was an isolated incident.”

Mr Guerche added that the club’s first aiders treated the customer before paying for a taxi to take him to A&E.

Dappy did stay at Play afterwards for a meet and greet with his fans.

I disagree with the phrase 'hip-hop star' He's a crap popstar at the very best. A hip-hop star would be GZA from the Wu-Tang Clan, and he was at the Jailhouse, which is Herefords only decent nightclub.

I object to the term nightclub - Hereford doesn't have any nightclubs, just pubs with late licences!

I suspect, wehen penning this here article, Mr Rogers may have had to peruse Wikipedia for his terms of reference.
In much the same way as one learns how to address the queen, Rogers has had to learn how to refer to an erstwhile "Kiddies RnB pop star" whose career is now in it's final throes.
Nobody in the music business comes to HEREford unless they are attempting to administer CPR to a finished career.

I went to a Stranglers Concert at the Malvern Winter Gardens in the late 70's and Jean Jacques Burnel battered a 'fan' with the end of his bass guitar after the lad had thrown a coke can at him. No fan phones or cameras and so the next day the World kept on revolving with no hysteria via the internet which didn't exist then ... I don't do the Dappy stuff by the way as he is not my cup of tea ...

Dippy. I am well interested. My bin lids listen to an old stranglers album (along with other old albums) in an old caravan on an old record player at the bottom of my garden.

I personally am hugely inspired by Dappy. I have his image tattooed on my back large as life. I have a complex series of mirrors aranged in my boudoire so as I can view him when I wake up in the morning and enjoy looking at his cheeky little face.

Mizza, there is much to be seen at Hay this year,it really is worth looking through the on-line programme!
If you want to rid yourself of this frankly, unhealthy love of Dappy, I would suggest booking tickets to see Christie Moore. He is fantastic! A true poet and teller of tales.....
