A CONTROVERSIAL planning application for polytunnels, on a site close to Ledbury, has been given the go-ahead.
The decision to allow the polytunnels on a field at Toneys Farm, Bromesberrow, has upset local residents, who say they will be a blot on the landscape.
The application, by G and BB Houlbrooke and Son Ltd, will allow the erection of up to three hectares of polytunnels at a time.
The steel-framed structures will be erected in the spring to protect strawberry plants and taken down when the last crop is harvested in November.
