Revised plans for new primary school in Leominster to be unveiled on Wednesday

PLANS for a new primary school in Leominster are to be unveiled next week.

Herefordshire Council has been working with Leominster Infant and Leominster Junior Schools to bring the two together to provide a new signle, three-form entry primary school for the town.

Plans were submitted last year, but consent was deferred because of sustainability concerns.

The main contractor, Kier Construction, has been working with the schools, the council and architects Amey to address the issues, with the revised plans to be unveiled at Leominster Junior School on Wednesday (March 20).

The new building will cost £11.23million - £8million earmarked from the Primary Strategy Change fund and the council providing the balance from its capital programme.

The aim is for the new school to be opened by October 2014.
