Already used to rubbing shoulders with the sporting elite – Alex put ex-Springbok rugby international Thinus Delport through his paces at a coaching session at EMC earlier this year – he took to Twitter himself saying he is “so excited” for the awards.
PE teacher Paul Bescoby praised Alex’s leadership and noted how the project got Alex “more actively involved in college life, regularly helping out at college events”.
He said: “Alex has grown into a well rounded individual.”
