HEREFORD Cathedral will hit the small screen twice in two months.
The county’s most prominent landmark first stars in a new episode of Flog It! – due to air on BBC1 tomorrow (March 20) at 4.30pm – which includes footage filmed in 2011.
It will also appear in episode five of the BBC’s Britain’s Holiest Places that will be broadcast on April 4 at 8.30pm.
The series of six programmes looks at the most appealing and thought-provoking sites in the Christian landscape, and features an interview with Canon Chris Pullin, of Hereford Cathedral, about the Mappa Mundi.
Mr Pullin who has served with the cathedral for more than four years, said: “I’ve been interviewed for television before so I knew what to expect, but you’re always nervous you might forget something or get lost in the middle of saying something.
“But it went well and it is nice to present the Mappa Mundi to people.”
A book accompanying the series Britain’s Holiest Places is available from the cathedral shop. For more information, call 01432 374210.
