A LEOMINSTER woman has thanked a veterinary clinic for the way it cared for a sick hedgehog.

The hog, given the name Hattie, was found by a friend of Sarah Cole.

It was suffering from lungworm, a parasite that can kill if not treated.

The hedgehog was taken to Marches Vets in Ryelands Road and is now being cared for by Sarah at her Sandpits home.

“The vets and nurses used their expertise and worked tirelessly for three weeks to bring Hattie back to health,” said Sarah.

“She is now with me in her temporary foster home.

“As she is elderly and a little frail, she will have her own home in a secure garden when the weather warms up.”

Sarah added that she cannot thank the team at Marches enough, saying they “went the extra mile to give this special creature a future”.
