Minister 'impressed' with Courtyard outreach work

FROM out of the wings, Herefordshire Council has been sent a “sotto voce” message over support for the Courtyard arts centre.

Don Foster MP, parliamentary under secretary of state for communities and local government, visited the centre to talk about its outreach intiatives.

The one-time Liberal Democrat spokesman for culture took an informal tour of the Courtyard and said he had never been somewhere where “everything seems to hang together so perfectly”.

Tellingly, he spoke of a board and management team that set “very high standards and in these difficult economic times” and deserved “all the support they can get.”

Chairman of the Courtyard board, Dr Roger Morgan, said Mr Foster went away “very impressed” at the extent of the centre’s outreach programmes.
