Resurfacing work on busy Hereford road postponed

RESURFACING work on the A49 in Hereford has been postponed.

The work between Newtown Road and Newmarket Street was due to start last week and take up to three weeks to complete.

However, work to replace road signs has been taking place.

The Highways Agency will notify motorists when the work will be rescheduled.

Between Newtown Road and Newmarket Street - so Edgar Street then? May as well just state that and make things clearer really.

Dammittt !!!
I was really looking forward to the tactile pavements at the crossings.

Biomech. They don't say "why" again !!

I hope this has nothing to do with the Lime Trees.

Seemed a little pointless doing a bit of resurfacing work if they were then going to rejig the whole road layout around that area in a few months anyway.

"Resurfacing work on busy Hereford road postponed"

Well isn't that a surprise....

"Biomech. They don't say "why" again !!"

lol, I know :P

Armadillo, I think they are slowly cottoning on to the fact that they've finally started a project and realised that, no, the current infrastructure won't cope. I mean, they've cleared the area now, now it's time to add construction gear, building material delivers and what not on top of the already crowded road.

Anyone notice that they've slap roadworks on the cut through (Blackfriars Street) across the opening of the Merton Meadow car park now lol

I'ts being postponed due to the on going installation of the new crossing.
As far as I know the resurfacing was along Edgar St up to Blackfriars St turning.

William, which new crossing is this? Is that what is going on at the mouth of the Merton Meadow carpark?

No.The new pedestrian crossing on Holmer Rd /Priory Place.
They were pile testing the ground where the link Rd is going last Saturday so I guess they are doing the same there

yes all the plant has moved to North Herefordshire to do their highways.
Dont forget you al,l report all pot holes and craters as if you or your vehicle get damaged the hole in question must have been reported prior to you driving or walking into it.
