HEREFORD’S latest singing sensation is through to the regional round of the Teen Star competition.

Georgia Nixon Cadwallader, aged 12, is to perform at the Coal Exchange Cardiff on March 22 in front of industry insiders, celebrity judges and a live crowd in the X Factor-style contest.

The youngster, who studies at the Bishop of Hereford's Bluecoat School, is bidding for a place at the national final at London’s O2 arena and the chance to win £5,000 worth of studio time and music classes. She is hoping her version of Emeli Sandé’s Clown will get her there.

“She is very, very excited,” said dad Dave. “You only get two minutes to sing to the judges, and I’m sure she’ll give it her best.”

Georgia won Herefordshire’s Got Talent 2012 with a stunning cover of Florence and the Machine’s You’ve Got The Love that featured on NME’s website.

Her dad said: “She’s always singing around the house or in the car, but winning Herefordshire’s Got Talent last year is what started all this.”
