Fire threat in Rushall update: Road re-opened and residents return to homes
4:54pm Wednesday 6th February 2013 in News
PEOPLE who were evacuated from their homes following a fire threat at a Herefordshire village have been allowed to return to their homes.
The road in Rushall, near Much Marcle, was closed by police after they were first called to an address at 5.10pm on Monday night.
Due to the nature of the threats and the presence of a number of gas canisters at the location, residents from two nearby homes were found alternative accommodation, while officers assessed the situation and to make sure that the property was safe.
A man in his 50s was arrested in connection with the incident, but after establishing that the threats were not credible, police decided not to take any further action.
