Leominster MP to vote against gay marriage

LEOMINSTER MP Bill Wiggin has confirmed he will be voting against the Gay Marriage bill due before parliament today.

Mr Wiggin outlines his stance in a statement to the Hereford Times that reads:
“I voted in favour of civil partnerships, which provided equality under the law, but I will not vote for a redefinition of marriage.

"I believe that my Party should be focusing on what it does best, which is to save our economy and our future.

"I think it is also very important to understand that whatever the Prime Minister has said about his personal stance on the matter, this his own position."

All Conservative Members have been given the freedom, when the Bill is brought before the House of Commons, to vote in accordance with their own conscience.
