Hereford summit to engage with the elderly

HEREFORDSHIRE’S aged are worth much more to the county than care budgets, a major seminar will hear tomorrow.

The Loving Living Longer seminar will launch a lottery-funded project that promotes the elderly as “elders” offering experience and opportunities.

Shirley Garner, of organiser the New Leaf Co-operative, said there was now a real need to see the significant numbers of elderly in the county as a body to engage with rather then define by stereotype.

Loving Living Longer at the Courtyard, Hereford, tomorrow is, said Shirley, a chance to “stimulate initiative” as to the opportunities associated with ageing.
