THE owner of a blind fox that went missing for nearly a week has thanked the gamekeeper who found him.

Wendy Scudamore almost gave up hope of finding Tenner when he disappeared from her Kentchurch farm two weeks ago.

But six days later the pair were reunited when the local gamekeeper found him in a nearby garden.

“Tenner disappeared from his pen after the gates were left open, and despite being seen later in the evening, there were no sightings until someone saw a fox heading towards the river,” said Wendy, who has owned Tenner for three years.

“It started to snow and because he’s a blind fox, he has no sense of direction.

“Every night, I walked miles in the dark with food and a torch hoping to catch his eyes in the light and approach him to guide him home.

“I had almost given up when I had a call from the local gamekeeper after I had told him that Tenner was missing.

“He said that he had found him in someone’s garden and would bring him home.

“Tenner arrived fast asleep in the front of the landrover and is now safely back in his pen and racing around.

“It has definitely changed my opinion about gamekeepers and restored my faith in mankind.”
