Several roads still closed - see here for updates
12:43pm Monday 28th January 2013 in News By Lydia Johnson
ALTHOUGH the sun is shining in Hereford today, some roads are still closed due to the heavy rain and winds that have battered the county over the last few days.
Several roads are closed due to flooding and fallen trees (see below) and Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service (HWFRS) rescued nine people after they became trapped in flood waters on Sunday evening in the Eardisley area of Herefordshire.
Crews were first called to reports of a woman stranded in her car in floodwater along the A438 near Willesley at 6.40pm, and the Water First Responders from Leintwardine managed to push the vehicle out of the water to safety.
They were then called to Letton at 7.55pm, where they rescued seven people from three vehicles stuck in flood water.
Just after 9.20pm an elderly woman was rescued after becoming trapped in her car in water in Kinnersley.
Station Commander Alan Haley from HWFRS’s Community Safety department said: “With ice and melting snow, heavy rain forecast and several flood warnings in place across the two counties, it’s vital that motorists stay alert and take extreme care on the roads.”
He urged people to keep an eye on their local news and weather reports, and to heed any road closure or flood warnings they come across as they are driving. He also reminded people not to attempt driving through floodwater as there could easily be potholes or open drains hidden below the water.
Road closures as of 9.15am today (Wednesday):
- U91005 Dunfield Lane, Kington (Road between the A44 and B4362) is closed due to collapsed verges.
- C1199 Ruckhall Lane is closed due to bridge repairs.
- C1019 Wigmore to Whitcliffe is closed - there is access to Leinthall Starkes via Wigmore and Pipe Aston and Elton from the Ludlow direction. There is a diversion in place on the B4361 through Richards Castle to Mortimer’s Cross, which will take you to either Wigmore or Ludlow.
- C1122 Wellington - Marden is closed due to flooding.
- C1120 Moreton on Lugg - Marden is closed due to flooding.
- U92210 Jays Lane, Leintwardine is closed. This will not affect the doctor's surgery.
- C1262 Hoarwithy Bridge - Kings Caple is closed due to subsidence.
- C1092 Canon Pyon is closed due to a fallen tree.

Don't forget that Noah was the greatest financier in the world. He floated his stock whilst the whole world was in liquidation!

If we are preparing to be doomed please make room for Bobby47 in your Ark.

I've got no problem having my good name associated with this vessel particularly if it floats, but, what happens when we do board, nail down the hatches, secure the timbers and calm the beasts down?
If we choose the wrong period in time, namely the longest drought in Herefords history, we could be stuck inside that place for months.
I'll be damned if I sit there in the darkness calming some demented Razorback Sow that needs comfort from its Mother.
All Im saying is lets tread carefully. We know nothing of Mizza's antecedent history. For all we know he's done this before and drowned thousands in his thirst to follow the teachings of the Old bloody Testament.
Im simply saying we should tread carefully before we entrust our lives to a man obsessed with purloining catalytic converters.

Look at the weather forecasts.
In the words of CP30 "We're doomed"
You're all invited so long as you don't mind being nailed in to a wooden structure in my garden.
I need as many creatures on my ark as possible (wasps notwithstanding) to re-populate the lands once the flood waters have receded.
I am short of women though. I need women to volunteer to be held captive, or as I like to put it looked after. We'll obviously start procreating so that the re-population can get underway as soon as possible.
With Catalytic converters for ballast, the finest used pallet wood construction and no navigational skills whatsoever, I don't see what could possibly go wrong

I'll be damned if I sit there in the darkness of this wooden abomination listening to Mizza grunting and planting his seed within anything that walks, crawls, swims of can muster up the will to fly.

Surely we can do better than that..
My ark will contain a special compartment where I will procreate so you won't have to watch or listen.
Having viewed the weather forecast though it looks increasingly unlikely that it will be required.
Edgar Street might even be playable at the weekend.

Blimey..
I really should get to work on the Ark that's half finished in my garage.
I shall take 2 of all the animals, except wasps.
