Hereford man's cycle ride for charity

A HEREFORD man raised £2,000 for charity when he cycled 1,000 miles in 13 days.

Daniel Preece, of Withington, completed a gruelling John O’Groats to Lands End bike ride to raise money for the HCPT Pilgrimage Trust, a charity that sends disabled children – many from Blackmarstone School in Hereford – on holiday.

While Powerade drinks and flapjacks kept 27-year-old Daniel’s energy levels up, he endured fatigue and constant pain in his knees.

Daniel also crashed into a fence and suffered a few punctures along the way, but crossed the finishing line smiling.
