Gardener treasures ring lost 20 years ago

AVID gardener Allen Wilding received an unexpected gift when a ring he lost 20 years ago turned up in a neighbour’s garden.

Allen lost the gold ring, which belonged to his late father, when he was digging close to his Eardisley home back in the 1990s.

That was until Christmas Day just gone, when friends, who now live at the house where Allen had been gardening all those years ago, came around to his home for drinks.

“We were sat around talking when a friend noticed something on a shelf and asked me what it was,” said Allen.

“It was just something I found while gardening and ended up keeping.

“It was then that my friends, Ralph and Clare Morris, spoke up. They said they had found a gold ring in their garden just a few months ago.

“A shiver went right up my spine and I drew a sketch of how I remembered the ring that I had lost all those years ago.

Ralph and Clare retrieved the ring that they had recently found – and it turned out to be the very same one that Allen had lost 20 years ago.
