FIRE crews were called to a large blaze on Hereford's Rotherwas Industrial Estate yesterday afternoon.

Four fire engines were called to the fire that started in a generator ventilation system in Longma Clean Energy on the Thorn Industrial Estate at 3.15pm.

No injuries were reported but smoke could be seen from the other side of the city when the blaze first began.

The fire was under control by 5pm but firefighters remained at the unit throughout the night to damp down.

That doesn't look like 'clean energy' to me - what with that and the MDF fire, its hardly the safest place to be is it? Of course with a nice south-westerly, all the poisonous fumes can blow over the City for maximum effect.

NOOOOoooooo, Not The Enterprise Zone !!!!
trucking, are you aware that the phrase "council gritter" has a rather euphemistic alter ego and caused me to splutter coffee on my keyboard in a very childish fit of tittering?
Can one insure one's "council gritter" as it were?
