ARTS Alive’s KinderGardens Theatre Festival aims to introduce the very youngest audiences to the pleasure and excitement of live theatre.

Handa’s Surprise, pictured, and Little Red You Know Who follow the autumn’s two previous shows for children, Funny Bones and Blown Away, with delightful stories brought to life and shared with a grown up; bright ideas for curious little minds, memorable and fun.

Children love live theatre, they sit engrossed, remember characters and songs, talk about it for months afterwards.

Arts Alive is very popular with older rural audiences but we want to offer something special for our youngest audiences too,” said Sian Kerry, director of Arts Alive.

Little Red You Know Who can be seen on Saturday, December 1 at St Peter’s Church in Peterchurch (01981 550372) and at the Conquest Theatre in Bromyard (01885 488575). Handa’s Surprise, a blend of performance, puppetry, live music and song, follows Handa as she journeys to see her best friend Akeyo in the next village, taking seven delicious fruits as a surprise.

See it at Ledbury Children’s Centre on Tuesday at 1.45pm. Very limited ticket availability. Call 01432 383840.
