A HEREFORD woman died from a wound infection after undergoing an arterial operation.
Brenda Collett, aged 78, from Lichfield Avenue, Tupsley, died on March 3, 2006 after complications resulting from artery surgery on February 10.
Mrs Collett, who had a history of high blood pressure and angina, suffered bleeding following the surgery and underwent further operations before her death.
A Hereford inquest heard Mrs Collett developed an active wound following the initial surgery.
Herefordshire coroner David Halpern gave a narrative verdict saying Mrs Collett died as a result of complications in surgery on a left femoral artery. He said the most likely cause was due to a non-MRSA infection.
