Biography

MP Since - 1997 Majority - 962 Born - 21/05/1961, Married (1 son)

Education - Hereford High School for Boys, Hereford Sixth Form College.

Previous Occupation - Self-employed Business Consultant (Banking). Non Executive Director of the London Computer Company.

Personal Overview - Won the seat at his second attempt. His interests seem to be educationally inclined, he was initially a Liberal Democrat Education & Employment Spokesman, but was moved to Defence in 1999, being reshuffled out in 2005. His involvement on the back benches has included a large number of All Party Group memberships, where he has Chaired the Lithuania Group and been a Vice Chairman of the Macedonia, Overseas Territories, Trinidad & Tobago and Childcare Groups. Has also been a member of the Electoral Reform Society. Perhaps unsurprisingly being MP for Hereford, home of the SAS, he asked a number of parliamentary questions on military matters. Fell ill on a flight to America in July 2007, the plane returned to England and he was admitted to a London hospital. Had announced that he would be stepping down at the next General Election.
