Hereford artist Valerie McLean publishes study of local Romanesque sculpture

LOCAL artist and author Valerie McLean has published a new book about the Herefordshire School of Romanesque Sculpture.

It contains paintings, drawings, prints and collages of a particular cluster of medieval churches in Herefordshire and adjoining counties.

Some of the images are observational drawings and others are a more personal response to the sights and spirit of the sacred places where a group of skilled craftsmen worked at the beginning of the 12th century. The original artwork will be exhibited during h.Art week.
