Sidney Nolan exhibition at The Rodd near Presteigne

AS part of the Presteigne Festival of Music and the Arts, The Sidney Nolan Trust at is showing a selection of important paintings by Sir Sidney Nolan.

Painted at The Rodd, near Presteigne, they recently returned from long-term loan to Australia – the first chance to see several of the works in a British gallery. These paintings constituted important new series for Nolan, including Aboriginals , a response to a spate of Aboriginal deaths in custody in Australia in 1987, and Illuminations , his reflections on the work of the French poet Arthur Rimbaud.

See them at the Tithe Barn gallery from August 18-28.
