Book arts workshop at Sidney Nolan Trust

THE Sidney Nolan Trust will be holding a collaborative book arts day on Tuesday, August 28, suitable for both experienced artists and anyone who’d like to find out more about ‘book arts’.
The trust was given a set of the 1960 Encyclopaedia Britannica which had been destined for pulping, and will be asking each participant in the book arts ‘challenge’ to select one of the 24 volumes and transform it into a new work of art.
Participants can develop ideas in advance or just come on the day and join in the discusions about how to tackle the challenge, then take the volume home to complete it for exhibition in the autumn.
The Encyclopaedia Britannica 1960 Challenge takes place from 10am to 4pm. The fee is £10, SNT members £5. To book a place, call 01544 260149 or email info@sidneynolantrust.org.
