Martin Miller afloat on a sea of teddy bears - Just an idea ...
DOWN Stairs Gallery at Great Brampton House presents Just an Idea ... an exhibition of new works by Martin Miller, which will spill out beyond the gallery and into the grounds of Great Brampton House.
Just an idea... is a testament to the artist, entrepreneur and business maverick for whom no waking moment is complete without concocting new exciting ideas from run of the mill everyday norms or preconceived notions.
The exhibition will consist of several dozen new works encompassing sculpture, photography, installation, video and more.
In addition to arresting new works, including a sea of teddy bears in Teddy Bear Corridor (pictured below), Miller adds a dollop of surrealism with pieces depicting melting tonne weights, and fire exit signs reversed to read as “TIXE”.
Finally, Just an idea... will conclude with a video work from which the exhibition draws its title, which depicts Miller attempting to recount every idea he’s ever had.
Just an idea... opens at Down Stairs Gallery on Saturday and runs until May 20. The gallery is open Friday to Sunday, noon to 5pm, or by appointment on 01981 251094.
