AN exhibition of work by a group of artists working with the medium of egg tempera is currently showing at Leominster’s Art on the Square gallery.
Most of the featured artists meet as a group tutored by Jane Knott at The Bleddfa Centre for the Creative Spirit, and their paintings all have the added dimension that comes fromworking in a medium, which, because it is very time-consuming, allows time for contemplation at each stage of the process, and a soft lustrous finish created by the way in which the wood in which the image is painted is prepared.
The exhibition runs until September 4 at Art on the Square (above Elts shoes), open Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 9.15am to 5pm, and Wednesday and Saturday, 9.15am to 3pm.
