THIS year, to mark the silver jubilee of the Weobley Art Exhibition, there will be a trail of 25 works of art in and around the village centre starting at the Walenty Pytel Magpie.
There will be sculptures cast in bronze and in steel and artworks made out of wire and of recycled materials. Mary Kenny will open her pottery garden and a local artist will display a large mural.
The last exhibit will be created on August 29, when Captain Chainsaw (pictured, above) will produce a throne from an oak tree trunk in the Rose Garden. A free trail leaflet will be available at The Old School Shop in Portland Street.
The exhibition and sale of art will be held in the village hall, from 10am to 5pm from August 28 to 30, with more than 350 contemporary paintings to view and buy, with prices starting from as little as £30.
This year for the first time there will be an artist-in-residence, Marina Strangward, famous for her wonderful seascapes. One of her oil paintings, Moonlight over Manorbier Bay, will be offered in a silent auction. Bids open at 5pm on Monday.
