MONNOW Valley Arts in Walterstone is currently running two exhibitions.
Gloucestershire-based artist Greg Tricker is showing a series of paintings under the title Revelation Paintings in the main galleries, while a display of the colour etchings of Welsh born artist Gordon House, best known as a graphic designer and pop artist, is in the artist studio.
Greg Tricker is seen as a visionary painter, his work rooted in the mystical innocence of spirit akin to folk art. His work, which explores the lives of St Francis, Anne Frank, St Bernadette of Lourdes and the Christian iconography of the Roman catacombs, has been likened to that of the mystical painter Cecil Collins.
Also on display is a collection of carved lettering on permanent loan from the Memorial Arts Charity.
The exhibition is open Wednesday to Friday, 11am to 6pm, and weekends 2pm to 5pm. Entrance is by donation.
