A NEW exhibition at GreenStage Gallery in Bishops Frome features the work of three local artists.
Claire Griffiths, a regular since the gallery opened in 2005, has used many mediums in her work but generally draws original pieces in pastel, finding revelation in the seemingly ordinary, such as domestic scenes, landscape and portraiture.
The colourful landscapes painted by Sally Sarneski and first seen at GreenStage last summer, proved so popular that she is back at the first opportunity to show more work.
She said: “My work is inspired by the countryside and what is around me.
“I like using different techniques and subjective colours to create images, and my aim is to try to produce happy and uplifting work.”
This will be Matt Clarke’s first exhibition in Herefordshire.
“My paintings are studies of nature, inspired by its ordered chaos and omnipresent self-symmetry,”
he said.
“I work with satellite photography, geological structures, biological forms and microscopic imagery to create the paintings.”
The exhibition runs until Sunday, March 21, at The GreenStage Gallery, Hop Pocket, Bishop’s Frome.
It is open Wednesday to Saturday, 10.30am to 5.30pm, Sunday 11am to 5pm, but closed Mondays and Tuesdays in February.
