THE community film production made by the people of Bromyard and The Rural Media Company has been chosen as the big Christmas Day movie for national broadcast on the Community Channel.
Still Life, created over the course of the year with more than 300 hundred people from the town, premiered at the Hay Festival this year.
It earned itself very high praise from Oscar winner and BAFTA Fellow Lord Puttnam who described the film as “an inspiration to communities everywhere as to what they can achieve with film”.
“It is work that deserves a wide and appreciative audience,”
he said.
The film and its accompanying documentary will be shown three times during the day, at 8am, 2pm and 9pm.
“We were thrilled that Still Life was chosen to be the Christmas day film for the Community Channel,” said Adrian Lambert, the film’s director.
“We’re up against some very stiff competition in our time slots including Top of the Pops, Top Gear and The Royle Family.
“But if anybody fancies watching a great film with a very local feel on the big day then please tune in.”
The Community Channel can be found on Sky 539, Virgin 233 or on Freeview 87 (between 6 and 9am only).
