THE annual lecture given by Professor Allen Fisher for Hereford Arts and Crafts Society is this year entitled Looking Through Landscape.
When we look at landscape we see what we have taught ourselves to see and are selectively informed about what we take in.
In effect we project what we want to see onto and into what we are provided with.
Professor Allen Fisher’s lecture will look in depth at how we interpret landscapes as individuals, and will include examples from artists Friedrich and Turner, Samuel Palmer and Paul Nash, Peter Lanyon and Joan Eardley.
Hereford Arts and Crafts Society present Professor Allen Fisher at The Courtyard on Saturday, September 21 at 7.30pm.
To book, call the box office on 01432 340555 or visit courtyard.org.uk.
