THE West Malvern Arts Festival, which runs from Friday, August 16 to Sunday, August 18, is based on a similar festival held in St Ceneri Le Gerei in southern Normandy, France and features the work of some of the most interesting artists in Worcestershire and Herefordshire.

The Festival, now in its fourth year, is sponsored by the local charity The Malvern Hills Community Foundation and there will be the usual mix of venues, ranging from gazebos, private garages, garden walls etc, to larger venues such as the Elim College, St James’ Church, West Malvern Primary School, and The Brewers Arms pub garden.

Admission to the event is free throughout for both visitors and artists, and will host approximately 80 artists, some of them new to the festival, showing a wide variety of work ranging from sculpture to jewellery, glassware to calligraphy, as well as painting, photography and mixed media.

All work will be under cover in the event of wet weather.

Anyone who would like to exhibit at the 2013 Festival should email Laurie Gregory, chairman of The Malvern Hills Community Foundation at westmalvernarts.org or call 07801 818260.

West Malvern Arts Festival is open on the Friday, 2pm to 7pm, and Saturday and Sunday, 11am to 6pm.
