Follow The Little Mochi Man on his adventures at Courtyard Family Saturdays on March 17.

Mixing modern and traditional Japanese forms of story-telling inspired by the traditions of Shogatsu (Japanese New Year celebrations) A Thousand Cranes create a new piece of inventive children’s theatre. Audiences can expect origami puppets, animation and specially composed music, this is the perfect introduction to Japanese culture for young children aged four and above.

The Little Mochi Man, tired of being bullied because of his small size, decides to run away. As he travels from the snowy mountains of Hokkaido, to the hustle and bustle of Tokyo, he meets many wondrous creatures and characters along the way.

The Little Mochi Man will be part of Courtyard Family Saturdays and children will be able to make a simple origami craft as a free pre-show activity from 10.30am.

The Little Mochi Man will be in The Courtyard’s Studio Theatre on Saturday, March 17 at 11am. To book, call the box office on 01432 340555 or visit courtyard.org.uk
