Here to There Productions bring Mike Bartlett's short play Contractions to The Courtyard Studio. It's a stinging indictment of corporate 'uncaring' in the face of 'duty of care' where the rules are dispiriting, inhuman and destructive. Emma’s been seeing Darren. She thinks she’s in love. Her boss thinks she’s in breach of contract. The situation needs to be resolved.

Contractions is a black comedy where office rules ignore human needs.

Mike Bartlett is the author of the hit TV thriller, Doctor Foster, while his mock-Shakespeare King Charles III imagined Prince Charles' accession to the throne. His short plays, like Contractions, magnify aspects of life with an astonishingly truthful gaze, producing waves of wry laughter.

Directed by Herefordshire actor Chris Barltrop, Contractions is at The Courtyard Studio from Wednesday, September 13 to Saturday, September 16.
