Olivier award-winners Imelda Staunton and Conleth Hill star in Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, which will be broadcast live to local venues from The Harold Pinter Theatre on Thursday, May 18 as part of National Theatre Live.

In the early hours of the morning on the campus of an American college, Martha (Imelda Staunton) much to her husband George’s (Conleth Hill) displeasure, has invited the new professor Nick (Luke Treadaway) and his wife Honey (Imogen Poots) to their home for some after-party drinks. As the alcohol flows and dawn approaches, the young couple are drawn into George and Martha’s toxic games until the evening reaches its climax in a moment of devastating truth-telling.

This latest production of multi Tony- and Pulitzer prize-winning playwright Edward Albee’s masterpiece opened last month to widespread critical acclaim.
