A one-man show which explores the life of Richard Burton will be performed for two nights at The Courtyard next week.
From humble beginnings to Hollywood mega-stardom, this production vividly presents the life of the great Welsh actor. In this sad but often humorous show, beautiful women, alcohol, wealth, stage and screen are threads which are woven into his story. Drink was the only real anodyne to his deteriorating health and mental state, his doomed tempestuous relationship with Elizabeth Taylor and his constant guilt over the abandonment of his family.
Performed by Rhodri Miles (Game of Thrones, Eastern Promises, Atlantis) this production has received critical acclaim at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2009 and also Hollywood fringe festival 2010 where the play won 'Best International' show.
Burton will be in The Courtyard’s Studio Theatre on Wednesday, April 12 and Thursday, April 13 at 8pm. To book, call the box office on 01432 340555 or visit courtyard.org.uk
