IN 2015, world record-breaking, award-winning, two-time best-selling author, broadcaster, ultra-endurance British adventurer and cyclist Mark Beaumont cycled Africa, smashing the Cairo to Cape Town solo record in under 42 days, cycling an average of 160 miles every day. Now he returns to UK stages to tell the story, through his brand new ‘audience with…’ style lecture show, Africa Solo, appearing at Malvern Theatres on Wednesday 30th March.

In 2008, Mark became known as ‘The Man Who Cycled the World’ when he completed what was then an incredible record-breaking 18,000 mile circumnavigation cycle of the world, which he swiftly followed with a 13,000 mile cycle of the American Cordillera (the longest mountain range on the planet) – and summiting the continent’s two highest peaks - for the BBC One documentary, The Man Who Cycled the Americas.

Africa Solo is a story of extreme endurance, through deserts, across mountains and vast savannah. But most of all it is a story about people - his team back in the UK and the incredible people of Africa, who made this journey possible. It is a tough, sobering but heart-warming account of a continent that is often portrayed for the wrong reasons. And Mark's unwavering ambition to find his personal best, to push his limits and set down unbreakable World Records.

"Truly inspiring, the sort of thing that makes you want to get off the couch, out of the house and on the road." The Scotsman.

Mark’s stories are captivating tales of where life can lead if you have enough determination; a story of mental and physical endurance, as well as a fascinating insight into the world we live in.

Mark Beaumont: Africa Solo will be appearing at Malvern Theatres on Wednesday, March 30. To book, call the box office on 01684 892277 or visit malvern-theatres.co.uk
