THE Autumn production from Ross-on-Wye’s Phoenix Theatre Company, A Night on the Tiles by award-winning Welsh playwright and actor Frank Vickery, runs from Saturday until Saturday, November 28.

Frank Vickery is well known for his incisive observational comedies set in the working class communities of Wales. A Night on the Tiles is one of his best and most hilarious pieces but at its heart, there is a tale of passion and jealousy worthy of Romeo and Juliet or Othello.

On her wedding night young bride Shirley isn’t sure who is the father of her unborn child – is it the man she has married or his charismatic brother? Then there’s the mystery of Aunty Alice’s will, leaving all her money to the local chemist. Grandad’s taken to the bottle and nosey neighbour Mrs Morris is always ready to pry. Add in a stuffed panda and the mayhem is immense.

A Night on the Tiles runs from Saturday to Saturday, November 28 at 7.30pm at The Phoenix Theatre, Ross-on-Wye. To book online visit phoenix-theatre.org.uk, in person at Rossiter Books or call 01989 564464.
