SKIMSTONE Arts present Jack and Jill and the Red Postbox, a sensitive, humorous and challenging multimedia and physical theatre performance at The Courtyard on Thursday, September 10.

The performance, which also includes original music and projection, invites audiences to follow the considerable changes in the lives of Jack and Jill, and their children Lucy and Peter, due to a diagnosis of dementia.

The piece was inspired by 89 anonymous transcripts collected during Risk and Resilience: living with dementia, a research project in Northumberland, which provided rich and emotive material for the fictionalised script.

Skimstone Arts are known for making captivating theatre, music and art in collaboration with artists, researchers and people experiencing increased social vulnerability. They have collected stories from friends, family and the public about the challenges, special moments and changes in relationships, when living, or have family members diagnosed with dementia.

Dementia affects 800,000 people in the UK - Jack and Jill & The Red Postbox explores some of the complexities of this condition, and encourages us to think about how we live and work alongside those in our communities who have dementia.

This event is part of The Courtyard’s Love Season, and audiences can get 10 per cent off when buying two or more Love themed shows.

Jack and Jill and the Red Postbox will be at The Courtyard on Thursday, September 10 at 7.30pm. To book, call the box office on 01432 340555 or visit courtyard.org.uk
