FOLLOWING a sell-out run at Manchester's Royal Exchange Theatre, Hamlet will be screened at The Courtyard on Saturday, April 4.

This unique and critically acclaimed production stars BAFTA nominee Maxine Peake in a stripped-back, fresh and fast-paced version of Shakespeare's tragedy.

Hamlet is Shakespeare’s most iconic work. The play explodes with big ideas and is the ultimate story of loyalty, love, betrayal, murder and madness. Hamlet's father is dead and Denmark has crowned a new king. Consumed by grief, he struggles to exact revenge, with devastating consequences.

This groundbreaking stage production, directed by Sarah Frankcom, was the Royal Exchange’s fastest-selling show in a decade. Alongside Maxine Peake as the eponymous prince, a number of other roles, including Polonious and Rosencrantz, are also played by women.

David Durant, associate director at The Courtyard, said, “We are delighted to screen this unique production of Hamlet at The Courtyard, which promises a completely new take on one of Shakespeare’s biggest tragedies. Get your tickets now to experience this one-of-a-kind performance!”

Hamlet will be in the Studio Theatre on Saturday, April 4 at 7pm. To book, call the box office on 01432 340555 or visit courtyard.org.uk
