LIPSERVICE Theatre - Britain’s favourite literary lunatics and possibly the funniest women's theatre duo in the world ever - bring their cult Brontë spoof Withering Looks to Ledbury's Market Theatre on Friday, March 27.

The classic comic duo of Maggie Fox and Sue Ryding just couldn’t resist the urge to dust off their crinolines, wear flattering bonnets and sit at rained-lashed windows in a pale and decorative manner. Don’t miss this chance to share in the silliness!

Withering Looks takes an “authentic” look at the lives and works of the Brontë sisters. Well, two of them actually - Anne’s just popped out for a cup of sugar. Peopled with many of the characters you know and love, Maggie and Sue move effortlessly from frock to frock coat.

Withering Looks has won a Manchester Evening News Theatre Award and the Critics Award for Comedy at the Edinburgh Festival.

In 2014 LipService were awarded the Manchester Evening News Stage Door Award for Excellence, in recognition of their achievements over the last 25 years.

“Bring your tissues and prepare to wobble with laughter! This is life-affirming comedy of the highest order and it’s a treat to see them in our neck of the woods,” said Adrian Mealing.

"This award-winning show remains one of the most popular plays in the repertoire of a company whose comedy-theatre style has seldom been bettered" The Guardian
