JOHN Boyne’s highly acclaimed and best-selling novel The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas will be appearing at Malvern Theatres from Tuesday, following its world stage premiere at Chichester last month.

Set during World War II, the story of an unlikely friendship between two innocent boys, is seen through the eyes of Bruno, the eight-year-old son of the commandant at a concentration camp, whose forbidden friendship with a Jewish boy on the other side of the camp fence has startling and devastating consequences. Bruno's friendship with Shmuel takes him from innocence to revelation, revealing the poetic irony that through a child’s eye everyone can appear the same.

Edward Snape for the Children’s Touring Partnership commented, "After two years of development we are very excited by this new commission which will bring this extraordinary story to life on stage for the first time."

This world premiere of The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas on stage promises to be a deeply moving and thought provoking production. Perfect for ages 11 years and over, it runs at Malvern Theatres from Tuesday until Saturday, March 14. To book, call the box office on 01684 892277 or visit malvern-theatres.co.uk
