THE inimitable Jack Dee has been confirmed as Saturday's headline act at this year's #Courtlaughing Comedy Festival at The Courtyard from Friday, June 26 to Sunday, June 28, with a wealth of talent on stage throughout the weekend.

Opening the festival on Friday will be The Thinking Drinkers Guide to the Legends of Liquor, so sit back and savour several free drinks as this discerning drinking duo embark on an imbibing adventure that explores the liquid lives of history’s most extraordinary elbow-benders.

The usual #Courtlaughing Comedy Club will also take over the Studio on Friday evening with up and coming stand-up comics taking to the stage.

Saturday night will see Jack Dee at the venue with his helpdesk of special guests. Got a problem? Jack and his panel of experts are here to help. Whether it’s relationships, career advice, personal worries or something as simple as how to tell your emotionally stunted in-laws you no longer want them in your life, come along and share your troubles with Jack.

The Festival has plenty for the whole family, with James Campbell’s Comedy 4 Kids in the Studio on Saturday. For children over sox, their parents and anyone who likes comedy without the rude words, this is a show which might or might not discuss lollipop ladies, quantum chromatic disruption machines and tartan badgers.

Rounding off the festival on Sunday and fresh from his BBC Three series, Michael Whitehall Chats Back and in the Studio, Men in General mix à cappella classics with comedy, advice on relationships, what not to wear and the tender side of blokedom.

There’s a feast of funny film to be enjoyed too, with Airplane (12A) (Saturday 27, 6pm), and Airplane 2 – The Sequel (15) (Saturday 27, 8pm

The Wye Valley Brewery Festival Marquee will host free live music throughout the weekend with talented local musicians, as well as an Open Mic Night on Saturday from 8.30pm, when emerging and aspiring comedians will battle it out in front of a panel of judges to be crowned The Courtyard’s King or Queen of Comedy.
