IN a first for the venue, The Courtyard will be staging a relaxed performance of Jack and the Beanstalk.
The performance on Monday, December 8, is specifically designed for those who would benefit from a less formal theatrical environment, in which audience members are invited to leave their seats, make noise and move around. Lights will be at a higher level than usual, adjustments will be made to sound effects and a quiet, sensory room will be provided.
The relaxed performance will benefit individuals with autism spectrum conditions, learning difficulties or sensory and communication difficulties. Visual aids for getting around the venue will be provided and introductions to The Courtyard and the production for visitors with special needs are available upon request. Group discounts are available as well as free tickets for carers and increased wheelchair spaces.
