A BRAND new production of J.B. Priestley’s classic play Dangerous Corner will be appearing at Malvern Theatres from Monday, November 10. Starring Robin of Sherwood’s Michael Praed and Dalziel and Pascoe’s Colin Buchanan, under the direction of the former head of London’s acclaimed Almeida Theatre, Michael Attenborough.

From the writer of An Inspector Calls, Dangerous Corner is a timeless classic mystery where a chance remark at a dinner party exposes a world of murder and conspiracy.

All seems well at the Caplan’s independent publishing house until a can of worms is unceremoniously ripped open at Robert and Freda Caplan’s dinner party. A chance remark plunges the guests into a re-examination of the mysterious events surrounding the recent death of young Martin Caplan and skeletons come crashing out of the closet in more ways than one. Life will never be the same again… or will it?

The youngest member of a strong ensemble cast is Herefordshire's Matt Milne, who starred in Steven Spielberg's adaptation of War Horse and is fresh from playing Downton Abbey footman, Alfred Nugent.

Making the move from film to stage is, he says, a steep learning curve. "They're very different disciplines. With the stage, it’s two hours of heavy concentration, whereas in television it’ll be longer hours, so you’ll be there maybe 12 hours in the day but you’re not going to be working all those hours," says Matt. "And when you're on stage you have to make sure that people sitting right at the back can hear you." Working with a cast of experienced actors is, says Matt "A good experience for me. I'm quite new to all this and I'm still trying to catch up. But watching them in rehearsals, seeing how they approach their performances and how they are consistent and great every night is something I'm trying to match.

Dangerous Corner runs at Malvern Theatres from Monday to Saturday, November 15. To book, call the box office on 01684 8902277 or visit malvern-theatres.co.uk
