ARTS Alive is thrilled to presents a fantastic tour-de-force by actor David Mynne, founder of the legendary Cornish company, Kneehigh Theatre.
Now in his own company, Rabbit Theatre, he presents his extraordinary one-man take on Dicken’s Great Expectations.
Christmas Eve, 1803. Pip, a seven year-old orphan, visits his mother’s grave. A frightening encounter with an escaped convict sparks a chain of events that will change his life forever. Using Charles Dickens’ original words (well, mostly!), David Mynne brings you a ‘cast of thousands’ in his adaptation of this epic novel. His fantastic vocal and physical talents include everything from using his fingers to evoke Pip running through the marshes, to conjuring up the terrifying sound of a paddle steamer bearing down on two convicts struggling in the water.
"Actor, designer, comedian, artist and fi rst class idiot - anything Dave touches promises to turn to glorious fools gold! Don't miss him under any circumstances!" says Emma Rice, joint artistic director, Kneehigh
Sian Kerry of Arts Alive describes this as a not-to-be missed theatrical delight: “You probably know the story, but not quite like this!
