HAVING recently produced a play which saw a classic Morgan motor car on stage, Malvern Theatres' writer-in-residence Nick Wilkes is going one step further for Adrian's Wall and is building a Roman wall right across the theatre.

“The play is set upon Hadrian’s Wall, which is a long, thin and stony set piece," explains Nick. "Rather than trying to create that picture on a traditional proscenium arch stage, we are going to build the wall down the middle of the theatre with the audience on either side, and play the piece in traverse. It’s a perfect way to set the play and will see the audience more engaged and far closer to the piece than normal. It is also something that has never been done at Malvern theatres before, and will be very exciting for the audience the venue and the actors alike.”

Adrian Wilson has worked in an office for a long time. The same desk, the same telephone, the same office window.

Having just turned forty, he’s decided, that the time has come to change the view…Inspired by a long-forgotten primary school history project, he sets out on an hilarious journey to walk the length of Hadrian’s Wall, and finds far more than just backpacks, blisters and bricks...

A school reunion, a few military ghosts, and a short 84-mile wander, what could possibly go wrong?
