Treat for Billie fans

10:51am Thursday 18th January 2007

BILLIE Piper will make her West End debut this year in a new production of Christopher Hampton's comedy, Treats, which stops at Malvern this month as part of a select national tour.

The three-hander sees Ann (Piper) attempting to rebuild her shattered confidence after losing her egotistical boyfriend, Dave.

As a result, she begins a rebound relationship with Patrick, the office bore.

But then Dave returns and sets about winning back his former love.

Producer Bill Kenwright said: "I was looking for a project for Billie because she wanted to do a play and we came up with this. It's a play I've looked at trying to do for 30 years."

Billie is best known for playing the role of Rose Tyler in Doctor Who. She won the most popular actress category at the 2005 and 2006 National Television Awards for her work.

In addition to Doctor Who, her acting credits include the BBC series The Canterbury Tales, the recent The Ruby In The Smoke and a contemporary BBC adaptation of Much Ado About Nothing.

Treats will run for one week at Malvern Theatres from Monday, January 29, at 8pm. To book, call 01684 892277.
